Bahn Mi Bowl Recipe – Easy Dinner Idea

pork bahn mi bowl

One of our most favorite family meals is a homemade Pork Bahn Mi Bowl. Okay, maybe it’s just my favorite, but the boys love it too, and it’s fairly easy to make so it gets made frequently at our house. Dale is the chef around here but this one is easy enough that I can make it (without too much whining).

My Husband’s Bahn Mi Recipe

My husband’s Bahn mi recipe started as an adaptation of a favorite we stumbled upon. We first found a Pork Bahn Mi Bowl recipe while using a meal delivery kit – we kept that recipe card and Dale reinvented it to make it his own. We also love to eat at a local Bahn mi place (if you’re ever in Tulsa, make sure to eat at Lone Wolf). And ever since Dale started making up this recipe, I love it even more! Dean loves it too – he’s a big fan of cucumber and carrots. He can be a little picky about meat but he gobbles this up without even realizing there’s meat in it – mom win!

I love that it uses fresh cucumber and carrots – the added crunch is perfect! And my favorite part might be the special aioli that Dale put together to go with it – so so good and the dish wouldn’t be the same without it. You can add as much or as little as you like to your bowl.

Obviously, if you wanted to, you could skip the rice bowl and make this into a sandwich or maybe even a wrap – and it would be delicious! Now I need to make it again because just talking about it has me craving it.

Easy Family Dinner Idea – Pork Bahn Mi Recipe

Enjoy!

We hope you enjoy this easy family dinner idea! You can definitely substitute beef, ground chicken, or turkey in this recipe if pork doesn’t fit into your diet. However, we’ve found that the consistency with the sauce works the best with pork!

Don’t forget to pin this to save for later – and leave a review on the recipe card to let us know what you think! I think the next recipe I’ll share is our fish tacos with mango slaw – they are PERFECT for summer. So light and fairly healthy – and super easy to make as well. They pair perfectly with my jalapeño margaritas – you can find The Best Spicy Margarita Recipe here.
