We recently found out that our neighborhood goes all out for Halloween decorating and celebrations. Of course prior to our move I had donated what little outdoor Halloween decor we had, so I figured I need to start stocking up so that we can celebrate accordingly with our neighborhood. If you’re having a Halloween party for your friends and family, or just like to decorate for the trick-or-treaters, this blog post is for you!
Since we have a 4-year-old at home, and I don’t love scary things, I want to use kid friendly halloween yard decorations. Nothing gory or horrifying. I don’t want little kids to be scared to come to our front porch for trick-or-treating! And I certainly want our son to enjoy decorating and not be scared. Speaking of fall family activities, if you have a chance to get to the Kansas City area, here’s a blog post on our favorite Fun Farm Pumpkin Patch. They have SO many activities for the whole family!
Luckily I found so any outdoor halloween decorations and yard inflatables that aren’t too scary and are affordable as well! Today I’m sharing my outdoor Halloween decor finds and kid friendly Halloween yard decorations with you guys!
Affordable Outdoor Halloween Inflatables
I love these family friendly Halloween inflatables! I used to be the person who said we would never, EVER use yard inflatables for holiday decor, but here we are. Our son loves them and I am a sucker. I found several cute Halloween Disney character inflatables (characters used to be another no-no for me). I know my son would love the Chase Paw Patrol Halloween Inflatable or the Mickey and Minnie Mouse Halloween Inflatables as well! This Mickey Halloween inflatable is a little smaller and would be perfect for a front porch, and it’s right at $20. I hear that these Mickey Mouse holiday inflatables sell out quickly so I was happy to find them in stock for you and at reasonable price points! If you’re a Nightmare before Christmas fan, this Jack Skellington yard inflatable is pretty cute too.
Personally, I love these non-character inflatables; this stacked pumpkins yard decoration and the ghost popping out of the jack-o-lantern. I actually bought this cute ghost inflatable that’s holding a “spooky” banner because I thought my son would love him and he’s not too scary for little kids!
Faux Tombstone Outdoor Halloween Decorations
I also found some tombstone halloween decorations for the yard that aren’t too scary (they have pretty cute sayings on them). And they’re really affordable too! This 4-pack of foam halloween tombstones is really cute and only ten dollars! You could sprinkle these in your yard with some bigger faux tombstones or just place them in your front flower bed. I also found this light-up faux tombstone for the yard that says “Trick or Treat” and is also ten dollars. This foam tombstone lights up and says “Fright this Way”! I am probably going to get a few of these light-up tombstones and sprinkle in the 4-pack of smaller tombstones to make a front yard graveyard!
Large Spider and Spider Web
This is one of my favorite things for Halloween decor because it’s oversized and not scary! I don’t like spiders but I do think this giant spider and 25-foot spider web is so cute for outdoor Halloween decorating! I will probably hang this over our front window or over our garage. You could also get a bunch of spiders that vary in sizes and sprinkle them around and on the spider web for added effect! This fabric spider is really cute for over your doorway or front porch. And this pack of spider webbing and smaller spiders is great for stretching across trees, shrubs, or your mailbox or front door!
Porch Jack-O-Lanterns
I also really love these light up pumpkins for the front porch. Although we always make a jack-o-lantern with my son, I like these because they’re so cute and can stay out on your porch a little longer without the use of a candle. This cute light up jack-o-lantern is easy to use indoors or outdoors and you can simply plug it in to a timer to use it the whole month of October!
Halloween Outdoor Lighting
I also really like this halloween spotlight for the front porch or to shine on your trees or garage. It can be purple or orange so you can get a few to really make your front yard pop! I try to steer clear of the strobe lights because I know that some people are sensitive to flashing lights and frankly, they kind of bother me when we’re out trick or treating. Halloween string lights for your front porch are also a great idea for extra fun lighting! I love these “beware” halloween string lights and think it would be perfect for your front door or entryway!
I’m so excited to decorate the house for Halloween with our son this year and see what the neighbors do! It should be a lot of fun and these affordable halloween decorations will mean we can get more for less!
