What better way to kick off the 2020 Christmas festivities than a Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt?
I always love to find fun things to do around the holiday season as a family. But like every busy mom, I don’t always feel like getting dressed up or putting makeup on. Going light-peeping means I can stay in my comfy clothes and drink hot chocolate in the car. I’m all for a holiday festivity that doesn’t involve any cleaning, getting ready, or hosting!
Christmas Light Fun for the Family
I thought doing a Christmas light scavenger hunt would be a fun experience to gift before Christmas even begins. But you don’t need kids to do this one! I could definitely imagine Dale and I doing this when we were still dating or before we had Dean.
I love driving around looking at Christmas lights. It’s been a family tradition since I can remember and I love that Dean loves to see them too! I know a lot of my friends want to gift their kids with experiences this year and this would be a great way to kick off a fun holiday season with family and friends!
Make it Competitive
I know some families love competition and I’ve got several ideas of how to make this a little more competitive. It would be so fun to invite another family or couple to do this too and compete with each other. Here’s a few rule options you could try out:
- Take a selfie or video with each find
- Set a time limit (the most # of finds left at the end of the time buys hot cocoa).
- Make it a requirement to post selfies/videos to Instagram or Facebook stories (make sure to tag me, @caitminschy , so I can see how much fun you’re having!)
