Coffee table decor can be difficult for me to decide on. For me, the coffee table can feel like a big awkward space that still needs to be functional. But affordable coffee table books can be the perfect touch of personalized style!
I recently shared a post on our console table styling. Several of the elements I used in that space can also be used for styling a coffee table. I love to add some greenery in a vase, some wooden beads, or a decorative bowl, but coffee table books are my favorite element in styling a coffee table. They’re beautiful, bring personality, give you something to do if you’re bored, and they’re easy to relocate in case you need more space.
Use Coffee Table Books to Bring Personality to Your Space
Beautiful coffee table books that compliment your style aesthetically, can also bring a personal touch to the space. You can mix genres to compliment your passions and personality. For example, mix home design books with fashion books or travel books. A mixture of book genres gives the space warmth and personality.
My personal favorite genres of coffee table books are home decor, gardening, and travel. I recently found this Yellowstone book that we may need to add to our collection, since we enjoyed our trip to Yellowstone last year so much.
Coffee Table Books: Add Color or Keep it Neutral
Another way to use coffee table books is to choose them by color – this can also help bring personality into your space. I typically choose them by color AND genre – so I make sure they truly fit my style.
If your home is very neutral and organic, use neutral books to keep your home decor color palette light and airy. Or if you like bold patterns and prints, use books with bright colors to add a pop. You can keep the colors all the same, or mix it up!
Use them in Other Spaces Too!
One thing I love about collecting books is that they’re so versatile in design. Books can be utilized just about anywhere to create beautifully styled spaces. Use them on a side table, nightstands, a console table, or the mantle to add that extra element of design. I’m going to add some to my desk in my office next – and maybe it’ll keep me from cluttering up my desk.
