Hey friends! Today’s post is all about trying new things – all things beauty. Since I love to try new beauty products so much, each month I will share what I try with you! I know it’s hard to stand in the store and test a bunch of products before purchasing. And many products you CAN’T test without buying a full-sized product for yourself. So, I’ll do all the testing so that when you head to the store for a new product, you won’t have to do quite as much guesswork. My goal is to make your beauty shopping a little easier! So, here’s my roundup for the month of May – what I’ve tried, and my brief review of each product for you!

  1. Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Thickening Spray– Some of you guys who have been around awhile may know that I use my Big Sexy Hair dry shampoo for added texture before curling and styling. I’m happy to say that this product may be taking its place for that function! I have fully fallen for this product because of the texture it provides, without causing my hair to feel like sticky glue or straw (very similarly to using the BS dry shampoo). If you need a little extra texture for styling or curling (almost everyone does) – this IS the product to use.
  2. Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber, and Green Tea- Okay, so this one also pleasantly surprised me. I picked it up in the kiosk near the checkout station as a last minute addition, just to try. I’m not a huge “facial spray” person because in all honesty, I feel like splashing some water on my face gives the same effect (which is basically nothing for me). I don’t view them as super hydrating like they claim because I think most of it just evaporates. BUT this spray I actually enjoyed- admittedly it was mainly for the smell of the green tea, but I did feel like it gave me a little boost of energy. Whether or not it’s beneficial skincare, I’d have to ask an expert. It is only $5 though, and I’m planning on keeping it in my purse (or diaper bag) this summer for a little refresh from the heat when I need it!
  3. Aussie Clean Texture Dry Shampoo– I’m definitely teetering on the edge of overkill with the texture sprays- but they seriously are the best! And this dry shampoo was a great addition to my cart. I am usually a brand snob and have pledged my dry shampoo loyalty to Big Sexy Hair, but this dry shampoo was amazingly similar for a fraction of the cost. I have tried just about every other dry shampoo on the market and can say that this one has the most bang for your buck at only $4.99 from Target (WHAT?!)! So if you like the texture of Big Sexy dry shampoo, but want to be more budget-friendly – get this one instead!
  4. Pond’s Cold Cream Facial Cleansing Balm– Love this stuff! I used to be a Neutrogena makeup remover wipes girl, and will probably still use them when traveling, but I’ve recently replaced all makeup removers in my cabinet for this one. It’s super easy to use and creates a LOT less waste. Not to mention, I’ve had mine for nearly a month and have barely made a dent in the product. Definitely going to save some money using this stuff as you only need a “pearl-sized” amount to completely remove all makeup. The other thing I really like about it is that it’s so gentle on my skin. It’s $10 at Target and worth every little penny!
  5. Benefit Roller Lash Mascara– Okay, this one I’ve actually been using longer than a month but I went out on a limb, ditched my usual mascara, and tried it because I hear SO much about it. At first I was hesitant but now I’m in love. If you’re going to splurge on a mascara, let this be the one (it’s 1000x better than the Better Than Sex Mascara, IMO). I love the wand’s rubber bristles that help separate your lashes as you comb on the mascara, but it’s also a very buildable product. This means you can keep layering it to achieve a more volumized look, without getting that super spider-y or clumpy mascara effect. Definitely give this one a shot next time you need a new mascara!

5 new items is probably enough for this month. For the record, I don’t always like every new product I try – I guess my choices were just pretty lucky this time! Check back in June when I have a more new products to share with you. If this was helpful at all, please share it with your friends! You can use the links above or visit my LIKEtoKNOW.it page on the app to purchase any of these products really easily. Thanks for reading!
