Hi! It’s my second month filling you in on beauty products I tried this month and I’ve got a few that I’m very excited to share! As always, I’ve linked the products in this post to make it super easy for you to “add to cart” and try for yourself. I love trying products and will always share my honest review with you. Here are my June beauty reviews!
- Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner– so here’s the thing… I’ve used Tula skincare for the last year-and-a-half and have always used their gel toner, so I was a little hesitant to switch it up. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, amiright? Anyway, I headed into Ulta and they did NOT have my Tula toner in stock, so I reached for this product instead. I have to say overall, I do like the product. Do I like it as much as my Tula gel toner? No. But it does the job. And for a good skincare line, the $18 price tag is very reasonable. Also, I have used it for about three weeks now and I have barely made a dent in the bottle, so in reality you’re getting a lot of product here. I could tell it was doing its job when I saw leftover makeup residue on the cotton pad, and it did help me keep an even skin tone. The Gylcolic Acid is the key ingredient here, and I feel like it’s worth the buy. But I still consider it second to my Tula gel toner.
- Tarte Cosmetics Quench Lip Rescue- this one, you’re going to want to add to cart. I honestly am not a major lipstick or lipgloss wearer, although I’m trying to be better about it. This one might just get me into a better routine. I like to \er for your lips. It’s not sticky and it won’t look caked or flakey over time. It also has a nice minty flavor to it (and sort of reminds me of Burts Bees). I use the Berry color way but it is a SUPER sheer coverage. Again, think of it more as a slight tint than actual color. So I’m pretty sure any color would look good on anyone considering you’re not getting a super pigmented lip with this one. Definitely one of my top recommendations for those of us who don’t like lipstick or sticky gloss!
- EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46– ($35)- YESSSSSSS. Get this one if you have it in your budget. I mean, it’s great skincare AND sunscreen. So really, you’re getting more bang for your buck. First of all, I feel okay wearing it every day because it doesn’t have that strong sunscreen smell. Also it’s made for people with sensitive or acne-prone skin, which I feel like is pretty much everyone, and it truly did take it easy on my skin. I have worn this almost every day for the past month and I can honestly say it has kept me from getting any visible sun damage, and I do feel like it’s working to lighten my freckles and some sun spots on my cheeks/jaw. It’s also earned the Skin Cancer Foundation’s Seal of Recommendation, which is reassuring. Just make sure to buy it from a authorized retailer (I’ve linked one above).
That’s all for my June round-up but make sure to check back next month for more beauty finds! And if you have any product recommendations, I always love testing them out for myself- just comment below or on Instagram @highcottonstylecait so I can give them a try! Thanks for reading friends.
